O.P. SCHNABEL PARK - 9606 Bandera 78240
Trail Description: This park has it all! It includes 202 acres that were purchased by the city in 1964. It offers a good beginner-level ride and it also has some great intermediate to advanced trails here. Within a short ride from the start are majestic 20 ft to 40 ft cliffs overlooking a dry stream. You can ride around at stream level and enjoy a mixture of off camber and rocky trails, some great twisty single track or take the trail to the top for a scenic overlook. If you go far enough, some of these trails connect with others that criss-cross some drainage areas and seem to go on forever. There are a lot of hikers here so be polite and share the trail. There are some dangerous sections also, so use caution. Mostly the steep downhill sections out near the golf course. Be careful here.
How to get there: In San Antonio, take Loop 410 to HWY 16 (Bandera Road). Follow Bandera North for about 4.5 miles to the park entrance. Inside the park, turn left at the T in the road. Park by the Pavilion. This is where the trails begin.
