Saturday Weekly Beginner Road Rides

You asked for a weekly beginner road ride, and here it is!!  This ride accomplishes 2 things.  First, we have several riders that like to ride at a leasurely pace.  And second, we have beginners that are not ready for the intermediate rides... yet.

Pace information:     Group 1: 8-10 mph, 8-10 mile ride         
                                Group 2: 10-12 mph, 13-15 mile ride

These rides are open to members/non-members and all riding clubs.

All of these rides are located on our calendar and in our forum.  We also email everyone each week as a reminder. We ride alternating routes every Saturday.  And we'll be teaching everyone how to be a healthy, self-sufficient bike riders.

Saturday #1 Beginner Road Rides - Hollywood Park

Come join us the first Saturday of every month for the San Antonio's Ride Like A Girl / Ridin' With The Girls Beginner Ride at Hollywood Park. The start location will be in Hollywood Park. We'll meet in the parking lot of the Lone Star Capital Bank building. Address is: 150 N Loop 1604 E, 78232. It's on the corner of Loop 1604 and Voigt/Stone Oak Parkway. Across from the Valero station, on the south side of 1604. We'll meet around 7:30AM, start riding at 8AM.

We'll be riding Hollywood Park/ Hill Country Village. We have 2 groups / levels. Group 1 is the slower beginners. This will be a beginner pace, about 8 - 10 mph and we'll go either 8-10 miles. Group 2 is the faster beginners. Still a beginner pace, just a little faster and a little longer. About 10-12mph and we'll go about 13-15 miles.

We will gather early, about 7:30AM Saturday morning. We'll have wheels down (we start to actually ride) at 8AM.


This is a beginner ride, show up and have some fun. You don't really need to know what you're doing to start, we'll teach you. You won't slow anyone down, we're all new. Feel the fear and join us anyway!!


Saturday #2 Beginner Road Rides - Mission Trails

Come join us the second Saturday of every month for the San Antonio's Ride Like A Girl / Ridin' With The Girls Beginner Ride Mission Trails. The start location this week will be at Mission Trails. We'll meet in the parking lot of the Mission San Jose, which is the main Visitor Center. Address is: 6701 San Jose Drive, 78214. From Roosevelt, come in off of Napier and it leads you straight in.

We'll meet around 8AM, start riding at 8:30AM.

We'll be riding Mission Trails. We have 2 groups / levels. Group 1 is the slower beginners. This will be a beginner pace, about 8 - 10 mph and we'll go either 8-10 miles. Group 2 is the faster beginners. Still a beginner pace, just a little faster and a little longer. About 10-12mph and we'll go about 13-15 miles.

Saturday #3 Beginner Road Rides - Brackenridge Park

Come join us the third Saturday of every month for the San Antonio's Ride Like A Girl / Ridin' With The Girls Beginner Ride at Brackenridge Park. The start location this week will be at Brackenridge Park. This is off Broadway on Tuleta Drive. That's the little road right next to the Witte Museum. We'll meet in the parking lot right in front of the Joske's Pavilion. As you turn off Broadway & follow the main road into the park, the signs show you to continue straight to Joske's Pavilion. Address is: 2800 N Broadway, 78215.  We'll meet around 7:30AM, start riding at 8AM. We have 2 groups / levels.

Group 1 is the slower beginners. This will be a beginner pace, about 8 - 10 mph and we'll go either 8-10 miles. This group will stay within the park grounds.

Group 2 is the faster beginners. Still a beginner pace, just a little faster and a little longer. About 10-12mph and we'll go about 13-15 miles. This group will proceed south on Broadway to downtown and back.

We will gather early, about 7:30AM Saturday morning. We'll have wheels down (we start to actually ride) at 8AM.

There is only a few month's with 5 week's in them. June, September and December. Come join us the fifth Saturday of every month for the San Antonio's Ride Like A Girl / Ridin' With The Girls Beginner Ride at Mission Trails.

This is your club and we try & structure rides that accommodate the rides that you want. The beginner rides & clinics were quite successful. If you are a beginner rider, your attendance and input at this ride is very important to us. We're gonna have a great time!!
